Karl Frentz Memorial Picnic-14 Aug 22

It’s time for our annual picnic again and thanks to the Frentz family, we will once again be celebrating together at Sleepy Hollow Park in nearby Glenview, Illinois. Sleepy Hollow is located at 1821 Maplewood Lane, Glenview, 60025. Simply take Waukegan Road north until you reach Maplewood. Maplewood is the second street south of E Lake avenue, (so if you see Lake, you have gone a little to far!), and turn left, W/B onto Maplewood. Drive west on Maplewood for a block and a quarter, to arrive at the park.

If you are interested in bringing something, please find the sign up list at our next meeting, on 3 August. See you all there, and bring the family too!!

Memorial Day

I wanted to say thank you to all of our active duty, reserve military personnel and veterans, but particularly to those who are members of the Brandenburger Schutzen Verein, for your defense of all of our liberty. Without you there could be no United States of America, I join the rest of a grateful nation in saluting you today, JF

S. V. Omaha, 40th Anniversary

Members may be interested to know that we were recently contacted, via mail, by the Omaha, Nebraska, Schuetzen Verein, inviting us to their 40th Anniversary Ball. The ball is scheduled for 4 Jun 2022, in Omaha and although it is probably not likely that we would be dispatching a delegation to attend this year, it was nice to hear from them and hopefully we can connect in the near future. If anyone would like to attend, please let Gale and/or Tom know. For those interested in additional information about the Omaha Club, they can be found on Facebook at; https://www.facebook.com/SV-Omaha-Sch%C3%BCtzenverein-549982262035471/

St Hubertus Club Jagerball

On 5 Mar 2022 the St Hubertus Club of Chicago held their annual Jagerball at the Donauschwaben Hall, in Des Plaines, Illinois. The evening featured a packed house, a wonderful band and unlimited quantity of deliciously prepared food delivered with exceptional service. Oh, and there was beer too. The BSV was well represented and all agreed it was a great time.
