A delicious dinner was enjoyed by members of the BSV at the Donauschwaben Center, hosted by St. Hubertus hunters club. We thank our hosts for the delicious food.

Congratulations to our shooting winners King Larry and Queen Dahra, our new King and Queen for 2023. We had a wonderful time and even though things ran a little late, the crowd remained to root everyone on. Queen Dahra returns for her second reign in only three years, way to go Dahr! Honorable Mentions also go out to members, Peter Koelle (Right Wing), John Fuller (Left Wing), Jade (Right Claw) and Schiesswart-Gale Fabisch (Left Claw). The snacks too were various and many, thanks to everyone who took the time to bring something, it was all fantastic.

It’s time for our annual picnic again and thanks to the Frentz family, we will once again be celebrating together at Sleepy Hollow Park in nearby Glenview, Illinois. Sleepy Hollow is located at 1821 Maplewood Lane, Glenview, 60025. Simply take Waukegan Road north until you reach Maplewood. Maplewood is the second street south of E Lake avenue, (so if you see Lake, you have gone a little to far!), and turn left, W/B onto Maplewood. Drive west on Maplewood for a block and a quarter, to arrive at the park.

I wanted to say thank you to all of our active duty, reserve military personnel and veterans, but particularly to those who are members of the Brandenburger Schutzen Verein, for your defense of all of our liberty. Without you there could be no United States of America, I join the rest of a grateful nation in saluting you today, JF
